Well we have run pre cam and have track times to compare.

I see what you're saying Anthony. That would definitely help the Scoob along.

But that SS, by the numbers, about anywhere in the country should be a mid-11 second car. Oh well though, it is what it is. I can't wait to get home, get my car dialed in right, get the Mickeys on, and see if I can't crack some upper 120's through the lights. I'm at 122 now on an uphill track with the worst 300' you've ever seen.

Wonder what kind of setup it would take to have a bugeye trapping 130... Hmm.

Yea something is not right then. I say that scoob is a low 12 second car. Hmm...I think someone is fibbing about what they have done. It could be a slightly larger stock location turbo on the Scoob.

A bugeye in the 130s?

An act of god......or about 575+ whp (not jet; DD or Stang) and a nice gearing/trans, so close to it. (ppg *cough)

122 is still stupid fast. A tune, MTs, and a decent track should be fun to watch. Might be catching Austin. lol

Oh wow. Off the top of my head, I would've figured like 500 wheel. Yikes, 600 through an EJ is pretty tough. I would think you'd have to pretty much be in the realm of a GT42 pushing through a sleeved 257 to lay down that kind of power. Who the hell knows what would happen to the t-case at that level. The PPG's would prob be up to it though.

500s get your around 120-125s in an STi as a rule of thumb. Well a bugeye maybe 500-550whp might touch 130mph. STi are a bit heavier and crap trans for 1320.

Yea it would definitely be on a Race Gas tune to say the least. I'm shooting for upper 500 in my car Q16/Meth. So i'll let you know mid next year what i trap at. I'll be happy with 128.

Center Diff and rear diffs should be able to hold it....a WRX (or R160) rear might shit itself. I have a stock rear. I bought a brand new center when i did the trans, and a PPG front diff, Forks, Shafts, and some other garbage. I do have 300 launches and countless flat foots on the tranny any never broken anything but traction. Thats probably about to change with these new tiers though. lol

450s pump/meth short term after it gets broken in max out this little baby 62/lb turbo and then see what's what.
Now if my rods ever get here is another story. :/

Here is what 420swhp with equal torque does to 245 KDWs with a good tanny. I found the time slip later with all that spinning/pedaling i still ran a 8.0 at 92mph. haha

(this was only only 20psi and pump, primitive tune, i did eventually run 23-24psi with 900cc of 100% meth before the motor told me to eff myself)

What is the point of running Q16 fuel (stupid high octane, low gravity fuel) and Methanol at the same time in a 4 banger car? Theres 4 bangers making way more power than your planning on with just E85, 110 oct etc. Do Scoobys have some a higher detonation issues than other 4 bangers? I just dont see the point in running both..I did not even know people still used meth any more..Im just being curious cause I hear a lot of people doing this and that and I honestly have no clue what there talking about Lol school a brother!

The reason for me running a race gas and meth tune is to stretch the legs of a smaller "stock location" turbo with the race gas, but cool the charge with the meth. The higher in the efficiency range that turbo goes the hotter the air. I going to run oxygenated 104 unleaded, and 900cc of 100% meth @ 150psi. That combination put out numbers not imaginable for Subarus. I broke the 400 mark on a stock WRX motor which is unheard of.

Without the meth the stock motor on RG would've never held 27-28psi from a 20g. I've ran up to 30-32psi for a full 70-140mph pull by accident and i guarantee the only thing that held that motor together was the meth. (compressor side hose came off, 20 was running un-restricted)

Subarus do not like to make much over 500whp period. They take extensive modification to do so. (massive amounts of head work, internals, etc)

Well the gains would be minimal with Q16 i'm not arguing that. I think it's mainly easier to tune keeping the meth on, using the meth map and changing it accordingly for the Q16, and you run it purely for the chemical cooling. 90% of people that run meth have ran out of injectors. So a lot of people are kinda stuck running it.

Meth in general is almost a must on a Subaru if you want to make power above from the standard. There is standards for everything Subaru. A set psi (even though relative), a set timing pattern, and a set baseline for everything. So expect you to buy a 6k dollar rotated twin scroll 35r kit on pump you would net 400-430 if you're lucky. Most tuners won't even touch it on the stock motor. With meth your looking at 480-500whp and a safer 500whp.

From tuning them i can tell you they're a det prone car. The head design is partially at fault and the stock "quench" is not ideal. There is no "oops" tunes like there is with other cars. There is only oh shit and busted ringlands.

Meth makes those big numbers more reliably obtainable, makes pump gas (93->109 roughly) darn near race gas, cleans the engine, cools the charge like a mofo, and is cheap to run. It's always there, so no draining tanks and meth is 3 bucks for a gallon that lasts a month.

In short your answer is Simplicity, it's on there why start a new map. lol
Also yes Subaru are det prone....very det prone and meth is an easy fix.

Q16 and meth is kinda silly but, you still get chemical cooling.

To do it correctly it's a PITA. Reason why a lot of people don't want to tune them unless it's on a SA.

I saw one decent pass the rest looked like shit. Get a new twin disk and try again Mr. STi driver. Also learn to flat foot. Those shift are almost painful to listen to.

Surprisingly though i like the sound of the equal length on this car? Never liked one until now. It sounds like an exotic or something? Not quite a scooby but not quite a I-4.

LOL!!! If you call the 1.37 60ft, 3.90 330ft, and 6.20@108 1/8th on my first pass needing a new driver, then I need to fly you here to drive it.
My worst 330 for the day was a 4.1... If you watch the video you will see that only on the last pass I stayed in it for most the of the pass.. The first pass I lifted after the 1/8th.. 10.8@80... 2nd pass the boost line popped off and made 48-50psi and the clutch slipped... Weird, the motor didnt even flinch @ 50psi .. shitty boxer motor, 3rd pass I lifted at the 1000ft because the car was in the middle of the track.. 10.0@120 and 4th pass I let off at the very end.. It was around 40 degrees out and the track didn't prep because it rained earlier in the day..
The last pass was the worst 1/8th, 60ft, 330 for the day as well.. That is what happens when the track stops hooking..

FYI it slipped a EXEDY TRIPPLE HD.. So you can get a feel for what it makes for HP... I could put a new twin disk in it though, so it can slip right out of the hole

BTW.. I have gone 11.0-11.2@120-122 with 420whp in a full weight STI on pumpgas. On a 100+ degree day cutting 1.53 60fts on 18s
That is 6.9-7.1 1/8ths for you guys that only have a 1.8th track.

See you guys soon!
